The spirit within' speaks volumes to us if we will listen. Being a christian for many years I push forward to choose good but we all fall short. God give us the choice to choose good over evil but he also gives us forgiveness when we fail. It is very human to choose evil over good, I believe without God it is an impossible task. Whew, 'nuff said, this is gettin' too deep for me and I'm not wearin' my high-water-waders.

The three profound questions you have asked will need an erudite person, a scholar well versed in philosophy,theology and psychology to answer.
In brief,from my limited knowledge,I would like to say that there is a good angel(conscience and a bad angel(satan) residing within us.God has given us the freedom to choose between the counsels of the good angel and the bad angel.Normally, we select the advice of the bad angel which is very vociferous,demanding, argumentative and appealing among two voices that constantly keep talking to us.
Unless we are fully grounded in faith,goodness and absolute trust in God, HIS promise of eternal life and willing to make any sacrifice to follow HIS commandments we are liable to commit sin in the hope God will forgive us what ever we do.
Evil doing is the result of flaw in character and not necessarily personal guilt or failure.
To answer you questions fully will need considerable thought and meditation.

We were all born in the state of depravity and are in chains by Satan. Only the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ can free us from this depraved state by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior and being born again in Spirit and in truth.
