Aging (No Big Deal)

The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom. O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. For by me your days will be multiplied, and years of thy life will be increased. Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

ASK YOURSELF:

What is meant by threescore years and ten/fourscore years in the Bible?
How do you define aging?
Do you believe the times is in thy hand of The Father?

Psalm 90:10,12,14
Proverbs 9:11
Psalm 103:5

Three score years and ten is seventy years and fourscore years is eighty years. Aging is the deterioration of the bodily functions of man and the continuous decay of body cells that eventually lead to death. We will thus return to dust from where we came from. But the Lord can renew our strength like those of the eagle's and He can increase our years beyond our earthly allotted time. We make our lives worthwhile and satisfying by walking in the ways of the Lord and in the fear of God. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.

Sometimes it's astonishing to think our life in this earthly body will end, but our spirits will live on for eternity. It always blesses my heart when I meet elderly people who are of sound mind and good health. A blessing from God for sure...

I've no idea what threescore years and ten/fourscore years means, but Mel's answers sound reasonable.

I do believe that all my days (and everyone else's) are in God's hands.

Just yesterday I read in Eccelesiastes 3:11 that God has set eternity in the hearts of men. I see this to mean that our bodies are subject to time, but something in our hearts resists the temporal and longs for eternity.
